Why isn't the SH-18 called the Jimmy Page pickup?

Re: Why isn't the SH-18 called the Jimmy Page pickup?

I'm fairly certain that Slash is a Seymour Duncan endorsee with all that goes with it - Mr. Page I think is not.

Same reason the Bare Knuckle Black Dog isn't called the Jimmy Page. I could see Gibson releasing a special edition "Jimmy Page Burstbucker" actually...

But, Pagey is getting some royalties no?

Pearly Gates and Billy Gibbons... As far as I know, the good Rev. is getting them royalties. Yet, the name is different, and Gibson could issue some Gibbons' pickups as well... no?

Anyways, Whole Lotta is a cool name anyway. I kinda like it more than Black Dogs...

Why isn't the Jazz set called the Jollywood Set?

Oh ok I see what you're saying. Thanks so much for nailing that on the head for me. It's been niggling at me since I first noticed the SH-18's on eBay a couple of months back. I wondered about it quite a bit. I read the story about Seymour in London and thought if that's true then how come they are beating around the bush without just saying straight out it's the Jimmy Page model right on the box. It all makes a lot of sense now. Thanks once more.

Re: Why isn't the SH-18 called the Jimmy Page pickup?

If Seymour wants to name a pickup after me, my name can be had for cheep money.

EDIT: "Whole Lotta Slacker."

In that case, after whom did they name the Fuglybucker? :naughty:
