why you no like midle position on strat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: why you no like midle position on strat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the middle position on a Strat. I set that one up as my "home base" tone. That way I can click over to one brighter or one darker from there.

What I don't like on Strats is the notch positions. I prefer 3-way switches on Strats. Quicker and more positive "pop" back to the middle switch position! I hate aiming for the middle with a five way switch, and ending up landed on one of those damned in between positions!

Ha, I don't like it by itself, at all.

Re: why you no like midle position on strat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you assuming everybody doesn't like it, or is this a question??
If the latter, its very poorly worded.

I'm fine with it; and the "between" positions. But I'm more likely to use a middle single on guitars with bridge humbuckers, however you interpret that.

I no like the middle on anything.

That's very much opposite what I do. Most of time I use either middle and bridge or neck and bridge together.

Sometimes I use neck only for that classic tone, or or rarely middle alone for more cutting tone. I often play clean with neck alone too.

I like the sound of the middle position. Great for equalizing your strat. The in between positions I have mixed feelings about. The bridge/middle position was once my favorite position. Now I think it's most annoying sound a guitar could ever make.

Everything about it is wrong:
1. It sits in the middle so it's hard to exactly position the switch when playing.
2. It sounds thin.
3. It makes the guitar looks cluttered. Think about HSH.

Re: why you no like midle position on strat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only useable sounds found in a traditional strat are the neck and the notch positions.

Fite me.

I me like middle bumhucker in me Solid Guitar.

Re: why you no like midle position on strat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my former Strat (now sold) it wasn't too good to be honest.
That was until I replaced the neck from a cheapo Hamer to a Fender Classic Series that was chunky as hell.

The whole guitar came alive and the biggest surprise was the middle position. It had a huge tonal shift, for better.

God, I miss that guitar sometimes.

I present the Fender Japan Blackmore Strat (with 2 position switch)

I also EQ for the middle now, and that means the bridge no longer cuts my head off!

Also I hated the middle positions until I got a good set of pickups. Plus I think my taste changed. With the ceramic MIMs or Lace Sensors it was like a caricature of the Clapton tone. Now I can find some of my own tones.

It’s an internet joke...
