Wilkenson VS100 help

Hi everybody,

After years of hard tailing my Strat with a Wilkenson VS100 I've decided to let her float again (within reason).

Can anyone inform me on the finer points of adjusting the pivot poles to lower the entire bridge? It could easily go down another 1/8th of an inch.

Thanks in advance

I make sure it sits parallel to the top. This is the balance between the springs and strings. With my Wilkinson, using 9s on 24.75 scale, that means 2 lower-tension springs.

That’s interesting. I use 9s on a 25.5” scale with a Wilkinson. Normally I used three springs, but I went up to four. The bridge is fully floating. I feel the four springs keeps more energy in the strings, as the bridge doesn’t do the bouncy thing when I pluck hard, and it doesn’t move as much when I bend strings.

You can adjust three or four springs and get the bridge parallel. Just loosen the claw.

My Wilkinson is on a Parker P-38.

Mine is on a Warmoth. I am a light player though, and I like being able to do those little flutters. My claw is out pretty far- I don't think I'd want to risk backing it out any more.
