Any one heard of these? They are supposed to be identical to a PAF by seth lover. The neck is around 7.2 and bridge about a 8.6 or somewhere around there.

Sucks. Get a Seth or Antiquities. Seymours got 40 years experince tearing apart old PAFS. PLus, he actually worked with the legend Seth Lover, the original designer. Think maybe Seth shared some infromation?? Nah, couldnt be!
Oh ..incidentally...Seymour has an origianal Gibson Leesonic Winder for his PAfs.

While his answer may be worded in a very blunt way, there is wisdom to be found in what he says. If I were searching for a very direct copy of a PAF in every possible minute detail, I'd trust Seymour over anyone personally. The Seth Lover is named such for a very good reason and the antiquities are also really amazing pickups as well. That being said, I have zero experience with the wilkinsons and they could be nice as well. Good luck in your search.

I do realize this. Duncan has always been the pick ups of choice, but..... sometimes we want to try the less expensive models to save some bucks. Tax time is killing me this year. Besides I like to experiment on pick ups. I would have a set to play with ( so to speak) and try different things with them.
Now for my Fender strat I would not buy cheaper pickups, but the samick really makes little difference.

Re: Wilkinsin Pickups

I believe Wilkenson pickups are made in Asia like GFS. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I do beleive you are correct. The ones I saw were from japan I think. Same place most epiphones are made at

Re: Wilkinsin Pickups

if you're talking about trev wilkinson, he makes all sorts of hardware from tuners to several types of pickups. I quite like his single coils personally but i've yet to try a humbucker of his that i really loved. they're good but not amazing. value wise, i've always like Kent Armstrong, son of Dan Armstrong of see - through guitar fame. His humbuckers are generally not far of the Seymour Duncan pace (PAF copies included) and are much cheaper in the UK anyway

Re: Wilkinsin Pickups

I haven't tried the Wilkinson's yet. I've heard plenty of GFS humbuckers from a friend of mine and they all sound pretty good. I imagine they can't be too far off...

I mean a budget pickup will be a budget pickup in the end, but that doesn't mean it's not what you wanted. I know you are just seeing if anyone has used one yet, but maybe you could give us a review if you get one...

Re: Wilkinsin Pickups

I believe Seth Lover actually worked with Wilkinson on those pickups. I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I don't know, I always associate Trevor Wilkinson with budget guitars. He has a great reputation in the UK, but anytime I see a guitar with his name on it's some cheap thing for beginners.

I ordered some , I want to replace the duncan designed Pu's in my samick torino. I did not want to spend a fortune right now due to taxes. I will install them and then maybe give a review of how I think they are.
I would purchase a SG, and save myself all this trouble, but again. Taxman cometh and taxman taketh away.......:(

Re: Wilkinsin Pickups

As a side note: are you going to modify the Duncan Designed pickups that you're replacing? Sounds like you may have some guinea pigs for experimentation in those.

Sweet, I'm interested in how that neck humbucker sounds especially!!

Good ol' taxes, haha. It's the gas prices/new gas taxes that are really doin damage to the ol' greenbacks these days

Make sure you post a review after you've played them for a couple of days. Good luck!
