Will a Dimarzio Area 61 middle work well with SH14 Custom5 (bridge) & '59b (neck)? HSH
Will the levels match reasonably well? etc.

(Strat type, Alder body, Maple neck, Ebony fretboard.)

-Yes, I know '59b is a "bridge" p/u, but I'm leaning towards putting one in the neck...

The Area '61 will absolutely blend with those pups but I'm pretty sure that you will have to flip it's leads since it will be out of polarity when combining the pickups. Once you've got the polarity right between the pickups you will dig the combined positions but they will sound like garbage until you get the polarity right. I'd get the '59n for the neck... you'll want the extra highs and increased clarity to blend properly with the other two pickups IMHO.
