Wondering if you can simply drill a new hole and mount on standard body?

Sure.

Back in the mid-2000s I put a "regular" Strat neck on a contoured heel body.

Yes, the neck pocket is the same, just with a different hole for the one bolt.

The neck begins contouring further down the heel, so you will have a gap between the neck and body at the corner of the pocket. I’ll try to capture the neck/body joint so you can see.

You can see from the contour shadow it’ll leave a little gap. Overall no issues though.

It’s a great neck shape, I have a Strat and Tele.
