Will I wreck my amp if....

Scored a 1963 Gibson Falcon amplifier. All tubed, about 15w.
Turning loudness knob all the way up yields a nice slightly overdriven effect.
Put my DOD e.q. in front with level slider way up, [up to 18db of boost]. Now she's beginning to really snarl. Heh heh.
Add a MXR microamp,[up to 20db of boost] to the equation cranked up high and we have major hell that I love playing with much more than ANY dirt box money can buy.
Aside from maybe blowing the speaker, Could I be asking for trouble? Will I wreck something? Keep in mind this amp appears to have been neglected for a long time. [It does have a 3 pronged plug.]

I don't Think it'll hurt anything. People boost they're amps like that all the time without it causeing problems. I've never known anyone to use two boosts though, so I can't say for sure.

But personally, if I needed that much more gain from my amp, I wouldn't use a clean boost. I'd use a dirtbox of some sort, set the Gain real low, Crank the volume, and set the tone knobs to taste. That should give ya a similar (but different) effect.

Might shorten tube life a little.

The amp will be fine the speaker on the other hand will be short for this world...do yourself a favor a get a new speaker, it'd be a shame to pop that one.
