Hey guys, need some advice. I am looking to replace the neck pickup on my guitar. It's from the 80's and has a humbucker/single coil pickup configuration. The single coil is routed at an angle and the routing is for an EMG style humbucker. I want to go with a single coil sized humbucker.

Here is my question....

Since the routing is basically the same size and shape as the single coil sized bucker will it still fit into the routing for the single coil? Any pickup shaped like the hotstack for strat (STK-S2 model) will not fit because the body isn't routed to accomodate the semi triangular shape of that style pickup.

Maybe it is just me but I am a little confused with routing of your current setup. Is there are any pictures you could provide?

Yes

For the record, the lip can either be filed off or the pickup can be ordered on a "lipless" bottom plate at no upcharge. However, his only really applies to "real" single coils nowadays, as about 2 years ago duncan redesigned all their hum cancelling strat pickups to teh more universally fitting lipless formfactor

ZERBERUS that is exactly the routing. Same model of guitar as well, I think. Except mine is black. Thanks very much for the info on the lipless pickups. Glad to know that the pickup I want for my guitar will indeed fit.
