Smooth Jazz all the way to 80's Metal, including EVH and Hair Bands?

Or should I be looking at '59, Pearly Gates, or even JB?

Hoping to be able to turn the volume down and not get too muddy too.

Opinions? Sound clips anyone?

If they are anything like 59s then sure... you just have to have an amp with enough gain AND know how to tweak your amp! IMHO PAF styles don't hide sloppy playing so a bunch of the "lower output pickups can be soft with gain" is actually peoples sloppy playing... however the A2 magnet MAY be a bit loose on the low end for tight chugga chugga stuff.

If your amp will cover smooth jazz to 80's metal then Seths will be fine.

If you don't got the amp, 80's stuff might be a little thin.
