WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

Regardless how old a pup is the resistance should be the same, are you sure you measured it correctly? you have to twist the red and white together and measure the resistance with the black and green. If you did that and it still measured at 7.3 it sounds like age has made the pup short out, probably b/c the wire insultation cracked.

If you get around 16K when you measure it again but the JB still sounds weak the magnet might need to be re-gaussed, or you could buy a new magnet. You can sell aged magnet to folks who are looking for a lighter sounding pup.

Italic was right you can get a rewind for about 80 dollars.

As far as removing the logo on the pups, check out the posted thread.

Hope this helps.

Seymour will rewind any pickup. It dosent matter if its a duncan or not.

to get the logo off just use a little baking soda with some elbow grease.
