Will Sperzel tuners fit an RG?

Hey all. Just wondering if anyone has put sperzels on their RG. If they will fit the existing hole I would not think twice , but the idea of expnding the hole(paint chips,splinters,yikes)! Kind of freaks me out.

Might fit the hole but, if you are going with the locking Sperzels you will have to drill very precise holes for the pins to go into.

Yeah. I looked at their site. That part looks pretty straight forward, any minor imperfections would be covered by the tuner where as you won't get that much coverage by the nut on the post if any wood should fly. UGHH!

They fit the holes on an RG321 I used to have, but of course I had to drill for the set pins.

What kind of RG are we talking about? I had to ream my old RG to get Sperzels to fit. IIRC, it also had unsealed tuners with the covers, so I did a fair amount of work on the back of the headstock to erase the evidence of the original tuners.

just buy the planet waves locking tuners (the ones that trim the strings). these will fit perfectly (no drilling/ modification) where the gotoh/ gotoh look-alikes were. Have them on my Ibanez s2120 and they work out great.

Thanks, I will take a look at those planet waves. It is an RG42 with the gotohs
