My Hohner Steinberger copy has the wiper of the volume pot on the pickup side.
To my surprise, I notice all schematics here seem to have the wiper on the socket/amp side!
Why the difference? What design decision influences the wiper side configuration?
I DO understand that, with the wiper on the pickup side, you progressively load the pickup as you turn down the volume, leading to a loss of treble, hence the bleed capacitor. If I turn the configuration around, am I right in assuming the bleed cap will no longer be necessary?
Are there other advantages/disadvantages?
