Wiring and PickUp Choice Help

Hello, I have an HSH Ibanez RG. I want to add a second tone pot to make my configuration be 1 master volume, neck tone control and bridge tone control with a 5 way switch. I've been trying to find a wiring diagram for that but I can't seem to find it.

Also, would any of you have any suggestions for a middle single coil to pair with dimarzio evolution humbuckers? I have the evolution single coil, but it is way too quiet compared to both humbuckers. I know single coils are going to be quieter, but I just feel the volume difference is way too dramatic, even with the single coil adjusted relatively high.

I don't see any issues with your diagram.

I have the evolution single coil, but it is way too quiet compared to both humbuckers.
The point is to get a balanced sound between the middle and split humbuckers in positions 2 & 4, but it appears as though you no longer want the neck and bridge to auto-split when either is combined with the middle.

I suppose you could try an STK-S9.

Re: Wiring and PickUp Choice Help

I do want split on positions 2 & 4, so I'm guessing there's something wrong with this diagram.
I basically just want the 5way selector to work as the stock.

1 - Bridge HB
2 - Bridge split + Middle
3 - Middle
4 - Neck split + Middle
5 - Neck HB

But I also want separate tone controls for each HB and the series/parallel toggle on the neck.

Re: Wiring and PickUp Choice Help

You can buy a second cap and independently connect each tone control directly to each of the hot wires of the neck and bridge pickups.

I'd bypass the middle pickup issue entirely by getting a new switch, keeping the middle pickup as is and make position 3 bridge + neck. An option to split the bridge and neck to inner coils for this position would be nice, too.

Connecting them directly does sound like it'd be simpler. Wouldn't I need a superswitch to get position 3 to be bridge + neck, though?
