On further examination, that diagram is 50s style and my Strat is wired the same way.

I think this is what the tech installed instead of the no-load pot initially: http://www.allparts.com/EP-5385-000-Bourns-250K-Blend-Balance-Pot_p_1493.html. Big difference from the blend pot I wanted
