Wiring Diagram Mod?

OK, you guys are pretty sharp on wiring. What I want to accomplish is to put a 4-position switch in my Tele so that position 4 is wired like position 3 on the old Broadcasters. In other words, I have the diagram that puts both pickups in series on position 4 but want it to bypass the tone control and just go full dark with the appropriate (.033 or .047) cap wired full dark. The broadcaster has a blend pot instead of a standard tone pot. I want a tone pot in the other three positions.

I sent an email to SD tech support looking for a wiring diagram. The tech sent me these. The first one is the 4-position wiring with pickups in series. The second is Standard Esquire wiring.

How do I modify the 4-position diagram for this?

Re: Wiring Diagram Mod?

Edit: just reread.

You want both pickups in series with just a cap? Have you tried both pickups in series? (It's usually pretty muddy, sure you want a pure cap to ground on top of that?)

The dark circuit on a broadcaster is only on the neck pickup and it's more than just a single cap (or should be).

I see I wasn't clear on that. Thanks for catching me. All I want position 4 to be is the neck pickup with the cap, bypassing the tone control and bridge pickup. Positions 1,2 and 3 would be wired like a normal Tele.

Re: Wiring Diagram Mod?

This doesn't look possible with a 4-way blade as you need both sides of the blade to manage bridge and neck, then you need another blade/switch to manage which tone is engaged, cap or pot.

Thanks. That would explain why I couldn't figure it out. It's un-figurable. Well, it was a thought. I appreciate your help with this.
