Wiring Diagram tool does not allow 1 volume 2 tones

I have tried in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. I think this worked once in Chrome, but not anymore.

I have tried selecting Pickup Type > Strats, and leaving that blank.

I have tried this setup: Guitar Options > Number of pickups: 3, > Neck: Single Coil, > Middle: Single, > Bridge: Humbucker, > Volume: 1, Tones: ????????? It only gives 0 or 1 as choices.

Any idea how to get around this glitch? My strat has 1 volume and 2 tones, not just 1 tone (I did try selecting Strats in the pickup type field, but that didn't change anything).

Thanks.
Jon

PS: Also, there is "no preview available" for the P-rails wiring explanation document, so there is no way to print it like the others.

What kind of wiring are you after?

You may be able to use the one with three single coils or we can help depending on what split options (if any) you're after for the HB.

The wiring part of the site has had its issues thats for sure.

Get a stock strat diagram off google and then mod it for what you want the bridge humbucker to do.

I don't think it is a glitch- I think it simply isn't there. If you let us know exactly what you are after, then we can let you know how to modify an existing diagram.

Hi Mincer,

What I am looking for is for an SSH, 1 volume, 2 tone guitar with a 5 way Fender super switch (its an old lone start strat).

The mod I am looking for is adding the S-1 pot as a coil tap to make humbucker single coil.

That's perfect! Thank you. Just occurred to me that having a p-rail as humbucker might make a difference, but I've printed a lot of the wiring diagrams, and I believe the P-rail wire colors may be similar.

Do you know of any resources that will help me learn how to play with various ways to wire that setup (5 way super switch with s-1 pot)? If possible, I'd like to be able to get just a single coil in the humbucker. I think I could just add an on/on mini toggle for the middle pickup when s-1 is up, but it would be fun to learn more ways to play with this setup so I can find my 'ideal' layout for the sounds I use the most (I have a 3 toggle switch SSH Kramer guitar that I have a push/pull vol knob installed that turns one hum coil off. Those toggles and the push/pull give me every combination possible, but I don't use all of them, but def do use the single humbucker coil alone--that on my strat would be great).

Thanks! I'll be poking around myself on google and the fender site to see what I can find, but if anybody knows of a resource off hand, that would be great. If I find one first, I'll come back and post it here

Unfortunately I don’t know of any resources for super switch wiring “theory”. I’m actually very comfortable with 3,4 and 5 switches as well as megaswitches but when I need an intricate superswitch wiring I come here for help.

Generally the easiest is if you know what you want exactly to pay out the specific position you want and to go from there.

If you have a prails in the bridge my strong recommendation is to make the P90 and Parallel sounds easier to access than the series sound unless you know that’s what you’re after. I find those are more usable generally speaking.

Blille,

That suggestion gives me a good starting place. I'll try to get the P90 and Parallel sounds easiest to access, then get that Rail sound from there.
