Wiring help, H/S/S with autosplit

So, I have got around to change the pickups (a Custom 5 and two SSL-5) on my newest addition, my H/S/S LTD.

Normally changing pickups is no problem at all, but I have run into a problem that I cannot find a solution for; the wiring diagrams for a H/S/S 1 vol 1 tone autosplit in position 4 (between middle and bridge position) are all with another switch. I have one where all the terminals are in a row, the diagrams on the Seymour Duncan website does not have a switch with lugs in a row, which is kind of bothersome

How it looks like now is (in descending order towards the pots), hot wire humbucker, hot wire single middle, hot wire neck, lug 4 is soldered together with 5 with a thin wire and 5 goes to the volume pot. The wiring is not autosplit as it is, so I can't really look at how it is done now.

Can anyone give me some pointers?

Try this simple visualisation trick.

Fender/CRL switch
1 5
2 6
3 7
4 8

Your generic SE Asian switch
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

On both designs, terminals 4 and 5 are the common (or "wiper") terminal for their respective poles.

So I should solder the red and white humbucker wires to position 6 to get split between bridge and middle?

I use the Schaller E model Megaswitch on all my H/S/S guitars.
It auto splits in the three middle positions. The only drawback
is that there is no middle pickup only position.

Here's a link to the wiring diagram and click on the "Instructions" button - http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electro...nd_knobs/Megaswitches/Megaswitch_E-Model.html

Cheers

Cheeers, now I know what to but in when the stock switch is worn out

Update, I got it to work just fine, so cheers for the help, it's much appreciated:)

There is one thing, when testing the coils I noticed one humbucker coil being noticably weaker that the other side (opposed to the screw side), is it supposed to be like that? This is not something I have encountered in other pickups, but I have never really used the Custom 5, so I can't rule out that it is supposed to be like that.

The string excursion occuring above the coil nearer the bridge (usually, the screw coil) is markedly less than above the coil nearer the neck. This accounts for the different signal level from otherwise identical coil.
