Hi all,

I have a Charvel San Dimas, two humbuckers, 1 volume and 3 way. The pickups are OEM DiMarzio Super3 and Evo. I want to wire the volume pot with a push/pull pot to get PRS McCarty style single coil switching options.
I have looked at the diagrams here, DiMarzio and Guitar Electronics and can't find this exact setup.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction for this wiring with DiMarzio colour codes?

Many Thanks

Re: Wiring help please

Thanks for the reply. :)
I saw this one, maybe I am wrong but I think this shows the current wiring for my guitar. Bridge hum, both together and neck hum. I would like to install a push/pull so I would have these options but would coil tap when the switch is pulled up. i.e neck hum-coil closest to neck, two outside coils in series, brige hum-coil closest to bridge.

Re: Wiring help please

If I follow you correctly, this should be simple.

Just take the red/white combo of each p'up, connect one to the middle lug of one switch, the other red/white combo to the other middle lug of the switch.

Now take the top lug of one side, and connect it to the "hot" wire of its p'up, and do the same for the other side. You could just run a jumper from the top lug, to where it solders to the 3-way switch.

Does that make sense? :)

Re: Wiring help please

OK, I am a little confused still. Am I correct in saying

Bridge Hum:
Black(hot) to 1 side of 3 way
Red and White soldered together attached to middle lug on the bottom part of push/pull volume switch
Green to ground

Neck Hum:Black(hot) to other side of 3 way
Red and White soldered together attached to middle lug on the top part of push/pull volume switch
Green to ground

Is it when the red/white are in contact that the pickup splits. Would this not mean that the both red/white combos be at the top of the switch.

Thanks for tying to help me, I have never done this before but want to learn.
