Wiring help with PJ

I would like to add a push/pull-tone-control to my fav passive PJ-wiring which is V/T/3-way. The diagram is here (leads of the P-pickup reversed because of phase issue):

Now I would like a push/pull tone to put the humbucking J-pickup in series mode. It's a DiMarzio Super J.

Re: Wiring help with PJ

I'm certainly no expert, but if it was me I'd just use a push-pull pot for the tone and hope it worked.

Re: Wiring help with PJ

DiMarzio's own series/parallel schematic diagram will work. My inclination would be to keep the Model J wiring conventional DiMarzio as far as the mode switch then reverse the destinations for the switch output and ground conductors.

If your P pickup has a metal screening plate, reversing its output conductors removes the screen from the ground side of the circuit, possibly turning it into an RF antenna. I suggest return the P pickup wiring to normal phase.
