Wiring help!

Alright, so I'm building a guitar, I know how I want the pickups set up, but I'm not sure how to wire them, or whether or not to use 250k or 500k pots, but what I'm wanting is three pickups, set up in strat style, hot rails in neck and Bridge, and stk 1 in middle, I want both hot rails to be wired to a coil split pot, and a 5 way switch, anyone got a diagram for this?

Re: Wiring help!

Electrically speaking, your circuit is plain ol' HSH with the coil splitting. There is more than one way to achieve this. How you want the tone controls to operate determines what type of selector switch is required.

Re: Wiring help!

Then you get a standard Strat 5-way and wire it up according to a standard S-S-S or H-S-H diagram.

With the H-S-H diagrams, you'll see the option to autosplit the neck and bridge in positions 2 and 4.

You'll also see diagrams where the HRs can be split via push/pull or mini-switches. Decide which option you'd rather have, then go with that diagram.

Re: Wiring help!

TCM. Are you asking for a variable coil split, controlled by a pot, for all three pickups?

Unfortunately, this would require either one pot per pickup or some fancy triple-ganged stacked pot in order to work.
