So, I'm contemplating a single humbucker/single volume pot pickguard on my Squier Strat. Thing is, I've tried this before and found it too bright without a tone pot. I very rarely have the tone pot on anything but 10 so I'm thinking I need something there to tame the highs. I'm thinking a 500k resistor and a capacitor in series between the lug where the pickup goes (on the pot) and ground.
Essentially, I would be simulating a tone pot on 10 without a pot.
Do you guys think its possible? Has anyone ever done it before?
