Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advice on the wiring of my Ibanez SZ320MH. I put a JB/Jazz combo in and tested it at like 4 AM... so needless to say.. I wasn't quite in the proper mindset to judge everything. I was just happy it worked. Now that I've had time to mess around with it though, I'm pretty sure I have my bridge pickup (JB) wired incorrectly. It sounds very thin and low volume compared to the neck Jazz PU.

The guitar has some weird 12 terminal 3-way switch. Here is a link to the wiring diagram by Ibanez - http://www2.ibanez.com/supportResources/wiring/2007/SZ320MH.pdf

Notice how the middle position is the inner coils only? I am pretty sure this is my mistake. I'm just not sure how to fix it. For my new pickups, I put the black wire to their respective volume pot, soldered the green and bare to ground, and then I soldered the red and white to the terminal on the 3 way switch (the respective terminals that the original pickups were on). I am pretty sure this is my mistake, but I can't figure how what I need to change to get it right.

Any experts on here familiar with this setup and how to remedy it? I can't seem to find Ibanez to SD conversion charts.

Okay so here is the solution for this particular Ibanez guitar (SZ320MH) - it has HH configuration with 2 volume, 1 tone, 3 way switch (the switch in middle position uses the inner coils ONLY)...

I called Seymour Duncan tech support to get some help.. the guy I spoke with gave me color equivalents to the wiring, but it did not work out. Through some experimentation, I finally figured it out.. I hope this helps other people searching for the answers!

Ibanez Wire Color / Polarity+Charge / Seymour Duncan Wire Color
(Ibanez PU) green = North + = black (SD pickups)
(Ibanez PU) black = North - = white (SD pickups)
(Ibanez PU) white = South + = red (SD pickups)
(Ibanez PU) red = South - = green (SD pickups)
