WIRING ISSUE?

My wasburn has a jazz and a jb with two volume (push-pull for tap) and one tone with a three way toggle and when in the middle position if I turn either of the volumes right down the sound from both pickups is silenced, is this normal? I was expecting to be able to adjust the balance between them but this does not seem to happen.
If I have the neck volume at zero and bridge turned up and then select neck the sound is off, in middle and bridge positions sound is on which is correct.

Re: WIRING ISSUE?

That’s normal for Gibson style wiring. If you want to stop that, wire the volumes up like a Jazz bass or Rick. Just swap the two signal wires on the pot.

Re: WIRING ISSUE?

Thank you, the silly thing is I have previously owned 5 different les pauls (genuine gibsons) and for some reason never noticed this ( or maybe I did but just plain forgot)!

Re: WIRING ISSUE?

Must have just forgotten.

I can't think of even 1 LP that has independent wiring. And for good reason too. The control interactions are not what many like and the roll-off of treble supposedly is way worse than regular wiring.

I'd just keep it the way it is.
