Wiring question 5 way switch and middle position

Guys,

Is there a way to use a puse pull pot or toggle to select if the middle position of a 5way is either the middle, or bridge & neck, without it affecting the rest of the 5way switching? I have a 4pole 5way switch, a 3pole 2position toggle, and a 4pole pushpull available. Would love to hear the possibilities.

I think you would have to have something like one pole on the 5-way handles middle, the second pole has both neck and bridge up to positions 2 and 4, then poles 3 and 4 have the bridge and neck on middle, then you take the commons from 3+4 over to one side of the toggle, and the common from the second 5-way pole over to the other side of the toggle, and the middle of the toggle goes to hot. Not sure about the 3PDT switch, I'd have to see that. I think you'd just need a DPDT.

You'll need a 3PDT On-On switch. And remember, the contacts move opposite of the handle. Like this:

Excellent, thanks. Now I know that this can be done with what I have. I have a 2 position 3 pole toggle as well as a 4 pole push pull. Very cool to be able to make this idea a reality.

Ignore my post #3 and #5. It was late, I was tired, and didn't think it through. Do this instead. It's easier and you can flip the switch at any time to override the 5-way and have N / B.

Wire the three pups to the 5-way as normal. Then bring two jumpers over from the bridge and neck connections, and bring the output of the 5-way over to the switch.

P.S. If you flip the switch when the 5-way is in the #2 or #4 position, you'll have all three pups.

What is the difference between the 2? I'd like the switch to have in effect on position 3. Leaving 1 2 4 5 intact.

Let me chew on that. That would probably require a Superswitch.

I also saw your other post. I'm working on that one too.

Ignore all my posts above. I still don't like it. I'm going to address everything in your other post. You may even want to delete this thread so others don't get confused by my mistake.

No . . . don't delete this. Below is part #1 of your question.

Gimme a sec.

This was surprisingly more complex than I initially thought. Having the switch only work in the #3 position was the snag. But I believe this is it.
