If it were me, I'd put the bare to ground directly and not run it through the phase flip switch.

Hello Beaubrummels,

Allow me to say that the way that the DPDT Pushbutton switch will be attached to the pickguard ala the Jimmy Page #2, so the Pushbutton switch will not be near a source for ground, (at least, not a convenient source for ground) of course I could run the ground separately but that would make things a tad.... untidy.

Now that I have looked better at the Seymour Duncan color code, Green = ground and Bare = ground. Are these two grounds... the same or do they not have the exact the same purpose.

On any pickup, the bare wire is for grounding the metal screening parts of the pickup. It should be permanently connected to another metal part of the ground path to the output jack socket.

On SD four-con + shield cable, the green conductor runs from one end of the two coils within the pickup. One end of a pickup must be grounded in order for it to function. It is conventional - but not compulsory - to use the green conductor. Maintaining this convention for all SD pickups in a guitar should ensure the correct phase relationship between them.*

I agree with beaubrummels that it is wise to solder the green and bare wires separately. This makes it possible to alter wiring without inflicting any damage.

Sometimes, it is necessary or desirable to connect the four colour coded conductor wires in a non-standard sequence.

I agree completely with Beau and Funk. Generally, it's ok to combine green and bare. There are two instances where you don't: phase and running both 'buckers in series.
