Wiring Question

Can you solder a pup in a wrong way i.e connect the diffferent wires incorrectly and still get it to process sounds?

I have a JB I have installed in one of my guitars, and I am not quite satisfied with its sound, so was just wondering if a incorrectly installed pup even can generate sounds!

Yes, there are other ways to wire a pup. But for standard wiring of SD pups you
solder the red and white wires together, black to hot[switch or input lug] and green to ground. Make sure your connections are good with no cold joints. If you
do this your pup should sound great!

Re: Wiring Question

Old question but since I do not use the guitar in question I ask again.

Is it possible to solder a JB-SH-4 pup in incorrectly and still get a sound out of it?

Or is there only one way to install it?

That would help me because if there is only one way there is nothing wrong with the pup. It could be the guitar sounding dull, and/or me not actually liking the JB's sound performance in this type of guitar etc.
