Wiring question.

Hey y'all. Dropping a few new pups in my Strat. SSL-5 bridge, SSL -1 RWRP mid, and Texas Special neck. With the neck, do I just need to reverse the wires and everything will cool. Thanks.

Peace,

Darrin

Re: Wiring question.

Yes, but you won't be able to do anything about hum if the neck and middle are the same polarity, unless you have a Texas Special middle pickup that you can use instead.

I don't buy into the business of getting better tone by using the same polarity pickups in each position, but I don't really see why having positions 2 and 4 be hum-cancelling is so worthwhile when the other three aren't. The point being that having hum in position 4 shouldn't be that big a deal.

Re: Wiring question.

Follow the regular Fender wiring for the TS, and the regular Duncan wiring for the others.

Re: Wiring question.

as long as the ts is the opposite magnetic polarity of the middle pup you should be able to get hum free in phase notch position
