Wiring question

I am in the process of wiring two singlecoils and one humbucker, using the diagram from the Kinnman site (One volume, one tone, one 250k NoLoad neck pickup mix control). If I use a 1 meg resistor instead of the 500k as suggested, will I need to alter the pot values? If not, in what way will using the 1 meg affect the tone? The purpose of the 500k resistor is to connect in parallel with the 500k pot, effectively making a 250k load. By using a 1 meg, it just means you'll have a 300k load instead. Its doubtful you'll hear the difference.
