Wiring speakers...

Had to move a speaker to another cab with a wiring harness and jack; just a single 12". Is it OK to just twist off the wires and tape em with electrical tape, or do I have to solder the new wires straight on to the speaker terminals? My soldering skills are somewhere between those of a drunk raccoon and a toddler, so I chose the former method and it seems to work OK.

I just solder them. Electrical tape is horrid; the stuff drives me crazy when I come across it all up in some sort of project that I'm working on.

twist with a wire nut and tape would be good

but just twist and tape is so............ well............. you know

I actually twisted, then soldered over them and then taped them. I probably should have used a wire nut.

I really should not be allowed near wiring of any kind...
