Wiring Two Single-Conducting Humbuckers + SSL-5 Single Coil to Ibanez S470

Hi!!! I'm totaly new to installing pickups. I have an 2001 Ibanez S470 that came with INF H-S-H pickups and 5-way switch (Each pickup Alone + Splitteded humbuckers combined with the middle Single coil one).
I've decided to upgrade the sound of this Guitar which I really like by orderinga Seymour Hot rodded 35th Anniversary humbuckers set and one SSL-5 Single Coil for the middle position. So I've studied the wiring diagrams and color codes and prepared myself, expecting to get 4-Wire Humbuckers as noted on every wiring chart I've seen. Early Today they came and I was Schocked to see only one Braided Wire on the Humbuckers!!! Found out those are called Single-Conducting and one is not able to use them in Split Mode without modifyng the whole thing into 4- wires. Okay so I said I'll just use it in 3-way switch mode. So I desoldered all the wires from Ibanez Pickups but leaving the others as they where (the ones going from switch to volume, Tone and Input Jacks and so on). So I put the Duncans inside. Soldered the SSL-5 white wire to where the wire from Ibanez Middle Pickup was and the Black one to Ground on Volume Pot. Then I soldered the outer braided wires of both Humbs to ground on Volume and the inner black to where the red HOT wires from Ibanez where. First I thought it works but, the first and the fifth positions on the switch were dead and the 2,3,4 worked but gueass what? On all the working Positions All 3 Pickups worked at the same time with no difference in Sound!!! So I thought there mmust be a way and started to experiment and on first try I got it working in all 5 positions. The middle SSL stayed the same. I re-soldered the two black wires to where white ibanez humbucker wires used to be.
So now I have:
1st position - Bridge Full Humbucker
2nd position - Bridge Full + Middle SC
3rd position - only Middle Sc
4th position - Middle SC + Full Neck
5th position - Neck Full Humbie
The only downside is that the Humbuckers are not Splitting to one coil if you can't live without it.
I wrote this post because I've read people had many Problems with wiring Duncans to Ibanez in 5-way switch even with the 4-wire Pickups. So If anyone out there needs help just ask...:33:
