WLH set compared Slash set

Hi are there any of you that have/have tried the whl set and slash set, that can give a mini review, what they liked and disliked with them,
i have the slash set in one of my les paul and really like it. i am planing on putting the whl set i my other lp, but i can see they are very similar in output, so i am wondering if they are to close in sound, and therefore maybe i shoud go another route.

The WLH set is sort of a boosted PAF-type set, with maybe slightly more highs. The Slash set still has more mids. Although output is about the same, you have to decide what kind of EQ your guitar needs or what you don't like about the current pickups.

Thanks for quick reply, the other lp is stock pickups(epi Probuckers), to my ears they sound flat and dull, so i think i need more of everything, i really love som midrange power, so maybe the whl is not my taste if it is smaller in that apartment than the slash, but if it's not a big differents i can eq it out in my amp or board

I have only had the bridge pickups. I agree with Mincer. The Slash seems softer, smoother, and spongier. The WLH is bolder, brighter, edgier, and chunkier.

I personally prefer the WLH, but if you want a mid emphasis, the Slash has more. The WLH has more mids than, say, a '59, but it's still in the edgy/chunky/scoopy A5 camp.

If i decid to give the set a shot and don't find the mids in the bridge satisfing, will the neck pair well with the 59/c hybrid for more power

There are not many pickups that wouldn't go with the 59/Custom Hybrid. It is like a PAF with more power...treble and bass are more even, with a slightly scooped middle. But it is probably 1.5x hotter than a '59.

You might like the SNS set. The A IV magnets give a more balanced response and it is not mid scooped. Plus at around 9.75K, it's a bit hotter than the Slash or the WLH. It might be the perfect sound for your other Lester.

jeff_h have you tried the sns set, in the clips i have find it sounded very bright, but clips can be confusing some time

I’ve read the WLH is similar to Burstbucker Pro’s. In that sense, I once swapped the B.B. Pros out of my 2015 Les Paul Standard since the pickups seemed a little cold. The Slash set were very similar but were warmer and rounder, taking the sterility out. It’s basically comparing an Alnico V to an Alnico 2

i dont hear the bbpro and wlh to be very similar. the bbpro bridge is thinner and brighter on the high end for example

The WLH are less scooped than the BBP's. The BBP's are kinda like 59's with more grind up top. The WLH's by comparison have bass that doesn't extend as low, but more lower mids to fatten the tone and less sizzle up top, but more grindy upper mids/lower treble. The WLH's are still scoopy, though, just not as much as BBP's/59's.
