wolfgang,axis,evh frankenstein strat?

Hi, Does any body know the difference n these pickups are they similar or different. They are all eddie van halen guitars but different manufacturers. What is the difference in these pickups?There is also the seymour duncan 78. if anyone can help. Thank you.

I'm curious. I've got a Wolfgang Special EX, which is supposed to have the same pickups as the USA Wolfgang, and I've often wondered where they fall in the general firmament of pickups at large.

I putting the EVH frankie pup in my peavey wolf near christmas, my girls buying it for me. I dont care for the stock pups they sound kinda dead on the low end side but I like the brighter side,so I going to see how these pups work! I had a axis few yrs back, great player. I tried the expensive frankie guitar with the 5150III and the pups were well balanced, good reviews on this pup.

what about specs. on these pickups. wolfgang higher output pickup around 14k, evh 78" around 9K. anybody know what the frankenstein or ernie ball axis rated at?

See the links in my sig, fellas! But overall the Wolfie and EVH are higher-output, the 78 lower as you said. Also bear in mind that the Wolfie was designed for a Floyd/basswood/maple cap combo, the 78 possibly for regular trem/ash and the EVH presumably for Floyd/ash -- since the EVH is "an all-new take," quoting the release, on Ed's favorite Frankie PAF.

They're totally different pickups. The 78/Frankie Humbucker gives you the VH-1 tone.

I have a Wolfgang/MM Axis, and it nails the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge tone- especially with a soldano type amp like the 5150. It's a very balanced tone.

The Peavey Wolfgang pickups were hotter and darker, I didn't like them at all.
