I love andrew stockdale's guitar tone real rock n roll, pickup suggestions for something similar would be cool. does he have 57 classics or burstbuckers in his sg? anyone know?

Just found this, interesting.

Can you talk a bit about the guitars and amps that you are using on the record?

The guitars, well, I used a 1980s 335 Gibson for most of the album. We used a Laney Clip amp. We used an Orange 1960s amp. We used a Hi Watt. We used Marshall JMPs. But you know, I don't really know much about amplifiers. For the technical specifications of what they do, I just go by sound. I know what sounds good, but I don't know why it sounds good.

Don't you play an SG?

Yeah, I play an SG.

But you didn't play it on the record?

No.

The Dr. Vintage sound like knock off PG`s to me. The timberwolfe wasn`t bad at all, not sure the prices they want are realistic.

Cool interview. I have to agree with him on a number of things. I think he may have listened to classic rock more than he admits. ;)
