In the specs for the new slash aph-2 it says that they have a wooden maple spacer. Which spacer do they mean or are both spacers on each side wooden?
Also anybody know where I can buy some maple spacers? Have no axcess to a work shop so can't make my own.
Also are the coils covered in black paper tape or pvc?

Re: wooden spacer in aph-2?

a typical paf style humbucker has a spacer in front of the slugs on the slug side of a humbucker vintage ones were maple some makers use plastic it dont matter it has nothin to do with tone . it there to keep the two coils flat theres only 1 because the screw side has the keeper bar doing the same thing as the spacer. duncan uses cloth tape to wrap the pickup . i believe the use some kind of celifane tape to wrap each bobbin . but why would you want a maple spacer . make one from some hardwood 1/8" x 3/16" x 2" glue a popsicle stick together 2 sticks stacked is a little thicker than 1/8" sand it down to size
