ive heard they are from seymour duncan but what kind of a sound do they produce?

IMHO almost all SD pickups are woody,that's why they always react differently depending on what wood you're using.. I think that's the art of matching pickup with guitar to get the sound you want.. Sorry if I couldn't be of any help.

This post is about soundhole pickups for acoustic guitar.
The single coil model sounds clear but is prone to RF interference. The hum-cancelling version is less clear but rejects RF interference. The model with rotary controls on the casing allows ... er, greater control.
