Would 11-56 be ok in c standard for a light gauge?

I like 10-46 for standard tuning, but find the top strings a little heavy, in Drop c# 10-52 is basically perfect for me except id like it to be slightly lighter on the top string. For C standard would 11-56 be ok? Not too floppy? I have tried 12-60 for drop C and it was horrible... way to heavy.

I use 13-56 for open B. Should be fine for C.

Btw, i really like drop C, but hate drop b do you think c standard will be too low?

Short answer - yes.

Longer answer - depend on how heavy your pick hand is. If you do not pummel the strings it should be fine.

I'm guessing you're looking at the 11-56 XL set. I like those for D std/drop C myself. In C std they'd be too loose feeling for me, but I use 10-52 in E std. You'll have to try them and see, if they're too light they make a 12-60 set that might be more optimal. That's the set I use for C standard.

well i hit pretty hard when i am doing riffs on the low strings, but drop c# is great with 10-52 nyxl... the nyxl never goes out of tune on my trem guitar and they never break...

the 12-60 set i found WAY to heavy for drop C, the 10-52 is great for me in drop D flat... or c# wtv you want to call it.

Yeah, 12-60 for C standard/drop A#, not drop C. 11-56 wat you need for that sucka.

Yea, well i might end up going with drop C, it all depends on what me and rhythm guitarist settle for... He likes the drop for ease of playing, but i find standard to be a bit better with scales and I can play anything with standard i can a drop.... i just dont know what to do... ill prob go with 11-56 either way i suppose...

Eh, I like both, or either, there's different things you can do easier in one vs the other. That's why I have a bunch of guitars set up in different tunings.

just keep experimenting until you find a set that suits your playing style the best. Its not like a set of strings are a lifelong investment.

Depends on the nut you're using. Once you cut for a .060, there's no going back. :D

Yea well I only have two guitars, and one has go to stay in standard/drop D
