Would a gib 496r or bb3 work best with a demon bridge

Gibson don't really publish many specs and I have these 2 pickups lying about want to use as a neck humbucker. Anyone know the overall specs off hand?

i know that the 496r is a higher output neck pickup meant to match up output wise with the 500t and the bb3 is a mid-output bridge pickup, possibly similar in output to the demon.

I'd go with a 496R, as it's meant to be a neck PU. Should be clearer & less muddy than a BB3. It the 496R turns out to be too loud or harsh for what you're doing, I'd try an A5 in it.

Fail.

The 496R will be louder and thicker than the Demon. Adding an alnico V may tame the output a bit, but you'll add low end which will only make the EQ mismatch even more drastic.

Keep in mind the Demon is wound to around 10K with 43AWG wire. As far as output, it's only a hair louder than a 59, and has a much tighter low end. Out of what you have, I'd try the BB3 set flush with the pickguard or mounting ring. Ideally, you'd want to pair the Demon with APHn, Jazz neck, or possible a 59n depending on the guitar.

benjy funny you should mention the a2p humbucker, i modded the demon to A2 and screw poles and really like the sound of it in the bridge.

I had the alnico pro with the modded demon in another guitar but now want to use the a2p humbucker (neck)in an tele. Guess i'll have to test both the 496r and bb3, i was hoping to have a clear cut decision.

Thanks everyone
