Never had a full shred but I did it once and liked it. Been about 10 years so I cannot give much in the way of sound. But at about 12k good mids highs, and bass it was nice.

you're probably aware that the full shred shares the same wind and mag as a custom 5, but has 12 slightly shorter hex screws; to my ears this makes it sound much brighter and articulate than all the customs and also brings out the attack, but i found it a little bland...
the DDn's wind is about 12K of 43AWG and the customs are 14K of 43AWG; the DDn's wind sounds more similar to that of the JB with a more vocal-sounding upper-midrange while not having the potentially boomy low-end or shrill highs, while also sharing the customs' characteristic of having a focused low-mid push and generally being a bit of a rock lobster.
the stock double-thick ceramic mag is a bit much (even in the bridge) for my taste, but could really work for you; an A5, regular ceramic or A8 would also provide beefy full shred up the proverbial yin-yang.
