+1. Anything with an A2 isn't going to be scooped. No PU's are bedroom PU's. Sound comes from a combination of things, including wood, magnet, amp, speakers, etc. Lots of variables in the chain; change some, and the sound may fit a certain room better. A combination of a warm guitar design, warm wood, warm PU's, & warm amp may sound good at home, but get lost in the mix on stage. Do the same thing, but with a bright-toned guitar, and it may sound totally different. It's not the PU alone.

Yeah it does, right on the package!
Ok, so you have the guys who run lots of gain, scooped mids to get that thick tone that sounds good playing with yourself....
then you get that guy in a band context and he gets lost because his tone was making him rule in front of his cat....
So, Im sure that pickup makers play into this phenomenon, just like all other gear makers do to help achieve bedroom tone

As a Looongg time bedroom player, 90%, I love both the CC and the Pearly Gates. Everything in between vintage strats and Invaders have been spanked in my bedroom. Love to Xperiment.
When I play live, I just slide over to those tone controls and twist them until plain strings sing and the wound strings bark just right. Whichever guitar/pickup I'm using.

It's pretty much the least scooped pickup I know of. But it can be dark in a dark guitar. But nn a Fat Strat, it's just fine.

I understand what you're saying, but the first thing I do when I get to a rehearsal is turn the mids on the amp up.
I thought everyone did the same.

The pickup in this guitar is quite similar to the Custom Custom. I'd hardly call this a "bedroom pickup"... unless you're practicing.

... as well, the CC seems to work best w/ an amp that has cleaner gain, e.g., a plexi or similar and run loudly to enhance the massive harmonic overtones present in that pup. Plexis are definitely not the type of amps suited for bedroom wankage... unless you have no neighbors... or they're already deaf...
