I’d hope the Tele would be worth more in a subsequent trade or cash sale. I want no part of a Nashville Telecaster. Maybe I could trade it for a Telecaster with the correct number of pickups.

My favorite tele... Especially if it has the piezo. No one's forcing you to use the middle pup, but the first time you find yourself in position 4 when you're holding down rhytem you will be a happy camper.

Same here. If I wasn't thrilled with the Epi and the Tele was worth more, I'd trade and sell the Tele. Well, only if I could net enough extra for the Tele over the Epi to make it worth the hassle.

The 339 Ultra is a great guitar!!! I bought one a while back that played beautifully but unfortunately it also arrived with a small fracture by the nut so I ended up retuning it & spending quite a bit more on a Gibson Midtown Standard. The Midtown is a beautiful guitar as well but in a lot of ways I liked the Epi more & it was half the price ....

I'll tell you what, I really like my 339. It's light, resonant and it loves dirty chords.
But the treble pickup in a Telecaster is one of the greatest sounds ever and I don't have that.
The three pickups kinda break my heart a bit though. I'd happily mod it to being able to use neck + bridge.
I do like the fact it has a Piezo. That's just quirky, and I've never had a Tele or a guitar with a Piezo.
I think on Monday I'll go to this guy's house with my 339 and might come back with a Tele and a nice hardcase, if I feel like it.
He's really into trading it straight forward. It's in great condition BTW, it was recently setup by the same guy that does my guitars and it's pretty much flawless.

Piezos not the problem...it's the strings... Put some 12s and some chorus on and you will match any piezo acoustic out there.
And then your fingers will get strong and the electric side will have 15% more 'umph'.

Yes. I played that particular Tele yesterday. Nice guitar. My Gretsch sounds much better than my Epiphone 335. I’ve played a few Epiphone Sheratons that were duds, too. If you want a semi hollow or a hollowbody look at Gretsch. Otherwise, I’d trade for the Tele immediately.

I have a GraphTech Ghost piezo saddle installed on my semi-hollow (kinda like Tele Thinline) and that thing doesn't even sound like an acoustic, but a tambourine; thin, no bass, no girth, like a flaccid, pencil-size dick.
I had to pair it together with regular electric pickup (neck position) with the tone all the way off, to compensate for the lack of bass.
Then the wire connecting the board to the saddle started to crumble one after the other and there was no way to afffix it back. Right now there are only 3 saddles with the wires intact. At the same time, the board started to drain the battery very quickly, even though I had only play it for les than 10 hours total. A tech I know suspected it got short-circuited inside.
Two years ago I decided to deactivate that POS by bypassing the connection.
I will never buy piezo again and I recommend anyone against it.
