its been a few days since i put my new pickups in guitar. its as if they sound better each time i play. i am so glad that i went to the music store and purchased a new bridge pickup. it made me realize how poor the sound of a stock pickup really is. then i knew i had to replace the other two. thank heavens for seymour duncan. its like i have a whole new guitar. it causes me to play more. i dont know if this post would be considered spam, but, i just wanted to express my gratitude. this is so bitchin!

Re: wow

I've got the stock pups in my Ibanez SZ and i've got my dimarzio air zone and virtual paf on the way. I think I still need to record my guitar with differnt tones and styles so I can get a before and after idea. Am I going to see a huge improvement? Now don't knock it that they are dimarzio's becuase I know that both them and duncans are really good ( some of my favorite players and my tech have the setup that I'm getting though, so hopefully it will guarantee it works) but how much of an improvement? Anyone with an SZ able to say that the stock pups were really really crap. Because the more that I've sat and fiddled with tone nobs and idfferent combos I've found a few good tones...Just hoping that the new pups will only make this a lot better.

Let me just ask, is a 100 dollar pup investment going to really show...or sound? My tech after doing a little fret work and some electronics work and a setup is thinking that with some new pups my 500 dollar ibanez SZ should be able to run up against a 1500 upscale guitar any day.

you get what you pay for.

Re: wow

which pups did u get? we're all curious to know!
yeah replacing stock pups make a huge difference. and with better tone u feel somewhat more motivated to play!

Re: wow

I've found, that all new pups sound good initially. It's how they sound "the day after" that is the real test. I had to move a Stag Mag and a 59 a couple times before finding a happy home. (Still not sure about one 59.)

My QP equiped Genny however, I like more and more each day. In fact, I can't believe how good this $170 guitar sounds. ;)
