WTB: 80s axes in NY.

I am going to Manhattan in november with my school, and I wanna buy a guitar.

I am looking for a old 80s axe. Kramer, Charvel or Jackson. Ibanez RG550/770 are okay as well.

Must be in good condition, hard shell case preferred, but can live with out.

Single pickup guitars are best, just a single Bridge hum, but H-S-H, H-H or H-S-S are cool too.

The problem is, that I dont know my way around Manhattan, so I need you to come and meet me at my hotel or something, to do this deal. I wanna see the guitar online first though, and if I fall for it, you have my guarantee that I will purchase it.

If someone out there has some interest in this, post your axe, price and pictures and I will check it out :)

Re: WTB: 80s axes in NY.

Try to get a Charvel Fusion Deluxe. It's a single hum w/slant single. Comes with great hardware (Schaller made JT-590) and pickups (J90C and J200R). 24 frets, and shorter 24 3/4" scale Gibson scale length. If you have longer fingers or just prefer the longer scale, look elsewhere.

Another great axe is a Charvel Model 2 with a single hum. You might need to upgrade the trem depending on the year (each year they had a different trem it seemed).

Can you tell I'm partial to Jackson/Charvels?

I'm kind of in the same boat as you - I live in Cinci but work in Cleveland 5 days a week. I keep a POD in the apartment in Cleveland hooked up to PC speakers, and haul my axes up and down sometimes. I like taking my SL2H and my Charvel 750XL up there most of the time, but every once in a while I'll haul an LP up there.
