WTB: cheap PA system (or related gear)

Hey guys! my band needs a PA system just for practice use. if you dont have a full system or you cant let the whole thing go for my budget, i can also buy parts.

i need a powered mixer with a few mic inputs and at least one speaker (a speaker stand would be awesome, too)

only two of us will be splitting the cost of the gear and we're both broke college kids so i think our absolute MAX limit would be $300. i know this doesnt leave us with many options but anything you have may be useful. Otherwise we can get a budget system at MF with tiny speakers. thanks! :D

I have two floor monitors and a behringer mixer I could sell you. All you'd need is a power amp.

Re: WTB: cheap PA system (or related gear)

my advice is save a little longer and get something serviceable instead of throwing money away on lowest cost stuff .... and buy used for sure

i have a carvin power amp (DCM600) that is in near mint condition - never gigged, only used in my studio - that i'd sell if you can pay a fair price .. they go new for $330 ... i'd go a lot less than that and throw in a rack case - let me know

- Power: 125W @ 8 ohms/channel, 225W @ 4 ohms/channel, 300W @ 2 ohms/channel
- Bridged: 450W @ 8 ohms, 600W @ 4 ohms

Sounds like me and T4D have you set bud. I've used this setup in rehearsals for years.

thanks for the offers guys! i'm gonna get some more dough together and check back with you two. If all goes well we'll have a pretty decent rig
