WTB: DiMarzio Super 3 Black F spaced

I'm wanting to my Fender HM strat back to original specs, so I need one of these. I'd really like to get everything (TBX controls, correct singles), but I'm probably dreaming if I think someone ot there has an entire wiring harness. Here are some pics of my HM strat if you haven't already seen it.

I just sold mine...sorry....but that is a GREAT pickup. Will make your strat scream.

Hey, thanks for the tip. I have a regular spaced Super Distortion I was thinking of trying while I wait for the Super 3. Seems like these are rare as hen's teeth LOL!

The SuperDistortion is similar...but it's a little bit bigger in the bottom end so it isn't as tight or aggressive as the Super3.


But even though the Super3 is a "rare" pickup...Dimarzio still makes em if you want to buy it new.

Yep. I see them on the bay for $60. I'm very tempted to just do that, but I think I'll try the Super D first. My whole fasination with strats is strickly limited to the Iron Maiden boys (I'm a Gibson/Jackson guy), so it would make better sense to use the pickup they used.

I picked this axe up for a song, but I was planning on building Dave Murray's blackie from parts.

Don, what pickups you have in there now? Looks like OBL's in the mid/neck. Also a EMG looking humbucker.

BTW I have an F-spaced Super III I can do for $50 shipped, unless you are going with a Super Distortion instead.

They are Aria Pro USA pickups. The guy I bought the guitar off of thought the same thing (that they are OBL's in Aria "clothing" LOL).

I might take you up on that Super 3. Let me get back to you.

Don the Super III would be a smash in that guitar. Nice guitar BTW. I love the pink.

If it doesn't work out with Fusion, which I am sure it will, look up banjomikez on ebay. He either has new Super III's or can get them quick. He is who I and a few others go to for Dimarzio pickups.

Yeah like Wixed said, Mike on Ebay (BanjoMikez) is great to deal with, and you can't beat him when it comes to prices on new Dimarzios. Plus who else stocks those color combinations he has of Duncans AND Dimarzios?

I'm going to give the Super Distortion a try. If it doesn't sound too hot, I'll try the Super 3.

Yeah....he stocks darn near everything.

Most dealers only stock black/white/zebra....Mike has everything..LOL.


I usually just like looking through his auctions to see all the wacky combos he stocks.....cause you rarely see em.

Just email him if you get a chance Don. If he doesn't have it, he'll get it quick. Mike is one of those small business guys that I hold in high esteem because they do me right everytime, like dougstubes.

Anyway, either pickup I think would work great for you, but Superdistortions are much more plentiful on Ebay used. Super III's aren't anywhere near as plentiful, so Fusion's may be something you can't pass up, or may talk to him more about.

I have a both pickups in seperate Jackson DX10D's. The Super D has less mids than the Super III. Both are great pickups, just the Super III is a little more in your face, and the Super D has a touch of grain to it, old-school grainy grit.

The $64,000 question - if I'm aiming to play old school Maiden, which pickup? I'm guessing the Super Distortion, but I still don't have time to install it. Switching jobs, selling a car and a house, life has just been too busy. I need one of those stop-time watches just so that I can catch up LOL!
