they pretty much have a Tone Zone and an Air Norton in the Axis.
or are you wanting the mojo that comes with ones that have been in an EBMM?

Reasonable suggestion, but the Tone Zone/Air Norton set is totally different than the real EBMM Axis pickups.
Believe me, after as many pickups as he has tried, Ed definitely knows what he is looking for

EBMM and DiMarzio do not want anyone getting ahold of their "secret" EVH formula, so they tossed us all a tainted bone to throw us off their trail...
More recently, DiMarzio updated their "FAQ" (Frequently Asked Questions) list with this:
What type of pickups were used in the Eddie Van Halen MusicMan Guitar?
These pickups were only available as original equipment on the EVH MusicMan guitar. MusicMan replaced the Van Halen guitar with a very similar model called the Axis, which uses the same pickups. The closest-sounding pickups we offer are the Air Norton™ for the neck position and the AT-1™ for the bridge position

so they are sticking with something similar to the AN for the neck, but now they are saying it's something like the Timmons model for bridge. that's interesting, as the specs on those are fairly similar.
maybe we should pitch it and buy a AN and a AT-1 and send them to Ed, saying they are the EBMM Axis set. think he'll catch one.

LOL! Yes i already owned a AT-1 and modded it and got very close and may do it again if it comes down to it. for a neck pup i feel the liquifire is even closer to the axis neck . and since it is very based on the air norton anyway it is just a improved air norton

LMAO i would know within 5 seconds or faster depending on how good a job you did with the painted baseplates and other sigificant markings they have:approve:

I keep hearing a lot about the LF neck pup.
if I ever get around to desecrating my ser. no. 38 totally stock Ibanez Universe, that's one I might try.

What I might do since my WTB ad is not yielding any hits is just order the(AT-1/LF)set in zebra and call it a day?
What i do is un-air the AT-1 which makes it extremely close to the axis bridge pup and the liquifire i use two rows a screws to match the extra warmth of the axis neck pup,works like a charm...:approve:
