Nor is it really necessary.

and if you need one, you need one. I had one in a Telecaster that had a volume drop on the outer E strings.

I still have a hard time believing that. Invaders have a lot of output and can pick up strings from a long distance.

That said, couldn't one make an F spaced Invader by using the poles and baseplate from a JB or Duncan Distortion (F Spaced) and the magnets and pole pieces from an Invader?

Re: WTB INVADER F-SPACED BLK

Done that with a JB/C hybrid, used slug coils from each pickup, alteredbeast has it, works fine. I'd just order the sinister gaytes pickup if you want a regular vader though.

You'd have to do what king izzo had done and do a hybrid with 2 slug bobbins. Not that big of a deal but easier to order the Synyster Gates pickup and swap out to the stock black poles if you're not into the chrome ones. Kind of sucks it is $94 for the Synyster Gates version just because of the different colored poles.

Re: WTB INVADER F-SPACED BLK

What about a Duncan Performer?
Nice overall condition - some wear on the bottom E string poles and around 7 inches of cable.
The label reads HB1088-PF BRIDGE. Going for a song....
Let me know if you're interested.

Re: WTB INVADER F-SPACED BLK

Between the high output and the large poles, the magnetic field is plenty big that F spaced are unnecessary, except if you have OCD and it bugs you that the strings might not be directly over the pole. That said I have a regular black invader if you're interested, $45 shipped.

Re: WTB INVADER F-SPACED BLK

Yes Sir. I will take that if it is at least very good decent shape and has decent leads. Its going into a pretty nice guitar. Thanks you very much.

Re: WTB INVADER F-SPACED BLK

Let me dig it out of the parts drawer and see, i'll shoot you pics. Bought it (used) for a project that never happened so I don't remember. I'll be home in a couple hours.

Sure, I just imagined the volume loss over the outer E strings. I may be tone deaf and unable to read music, but I can tell where there's a loss of power. I ended up angling the pickup towards the lower side as I just play rhythm anyway.

Sounds good , thanks. In my estimation, the Invader may just what the doctor ordered to thicken/fatten up and tame the brittle nature of a guitar like a Chinese Squier. I think even a Air Zone / TZ would be too bright and thin for a guitar like that.Plus, surprisingly, I found the cleans quite pleasant IIRC.

I rather have a 'Vader. Thanks though.

Re: WTB INVADER F-SPACED BLK

never underestimate the power of OCD. Mine is far greater than any magnetic field.

Looks close to new, lead has been cut though. Looks to be "6 1/2 against my cloth tape measure.
PM me if you want it.

I gotta say I think that's perception. Its still over the pole, just not centered. No way that caused volume drop on a pickup that hot with those huge poles. I think your OCD got the better of you, LOL.
