WTB: Mounting Screws for Broadcaster PU

Hi folks,

Anyone have any mounting screws to fit a Broadcaster bridge PU? I'm in the process of installing it and found that the Broadcaster's mounting holes are slightly smaller than the stock PU in my Tele. :smack:

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: WTB: Mounting Screws for Broadcaster PU

All the Tele bridge pickups I've seen that were Fender MIM or MIA or Seymour Duncan need #6 - 32 thread size, machine screws. Including two STL-1b Seynour Duncan Broadcasters. I think the Fender stock screw length is 5/8" but there is plenty of room in all my Teles for one 11/16" or 3/4" long and if you set the bridge pup real low with a 5/8" screw you might run out of threads.

If you just want good functional screws a hardware store like Lowes can supply you with oval head philips drive screws in stainless steel in this size. That's what I typically buy and use. I have some I could send you but you'll have them quicker if you just go buy some from your favorite generic hardware store.

If you're really picky about looking authentic, a Fender dealer can order them for you, and I think places like MF usually have those in packs.

What model Tele, maybe a Squier? My CII Squier Teles had slightly larger pickup screws than stock Fender or Duncan pickups.

Thanks Yeg. I've got a 1989 MIJ Tele. Now that you mention it, I've got a hardware store around the corner that might have what I need. If not, maybe StewMac, etc. I'll find them.
