I think I have only seen three types of truss rod? One uses a hex key, one uses either a straight slot or phillips head and one uses a nut socket. http://www.ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=221&mid=1228

I've always used a 4.5 Metric hex. That is of course on imports. I've never worked on a US made Ovation. I actually had to buy the big Home Depot hex set just for that one tool. Even the sets you buy from Stew Mac don't have a 4.5. I hope that helps you out Aceman.
