hey guys, i'm not sure who's near me geographically but someone might have contacts.. this has to go quite soon! the parents are moving house and it's too big for my uni room!
It's a Peavey Mark VIII XP with the matching TVX210 cab - 350w at 4 ohms, 600w at 2 ohms. The cab is 4 ohms, but adding another one takes you up to 600w.. it's powerful!
i used it with with my old band for three or four gigs, when we didn't have a backline available. it's easily capable of getting a bass player heard by itself, but hooked up to the PA it was an absolute monster. big graphic EQ, loads of tone shaping options and loads of connections for other kit you'll find... the XLR out on the front pops straight into the sound desk, and that's all i ever needed. you'll be feeling it in your pants, which is the name of the game!
It's got built in compression and chorus , but i only ever used the compression.. i used it with both active and passive basses with no trouble, as well as a wurlitzer organ at home.. it's pretty versatile.
The only down side to this amp is the weight of the head, but it's built like a tank! big transformers, a thick chassis and everything's built to last inside. the cab's pretty manageable, though.
I'll miss the amp, buy another when i've got the room and a band in the future etc - but i need the room before i move out. i paid £180 but if someone's nearby and interested i'll see if i can't drop it over to you for £160 ono.
i can take as many photos as you like and i've got a pdf of the user manual. i'm open for people to try it, i'm in mitcham, south london.
any questions, give me a shout. Cheers!
Tom
P.S -it's missing one of the EQ slider knobs and one of the wee rubber feet.. these dont affect much though
