Does the Blackout neck use quick connect, and will it retrofit in an EMG equipped guitar?

Yup!

In fact, I had a spare EMG quick connect cable, so I just cut off the attached cable as per SD's instructions when retrofitting into a guitar with EMGs. The only cable you can use IS a quick connect cable, which will be included unless you specify otherwise. (In other words, I need one with the EMG's I get if I send it out :laugh2: )

Way different - it'd be easier to compare it to the 85 in the bridge. It's like a slightly more 'giving'/more dynamic/more organic 85. So I guess compared to the 81, it has a way bigger, fatter low end, way smoothed-out top end, and a more organic/responsive midrange.
